The Côte d'Azur,the famous French Riviera which stretches from Hyères to Menton is set up to receive a large and rather affluent tourist clientele.
The cities and coastline abound with first class hotels, in restaurants, chic boutiques,private beaches and luxury houses. Main cities are Nice, Cannes, Saint Tropez...
But the coast is also Camargue and its keepers, and the great ports of Marseille, Toulon and Nice, all three, gateways to Africa since ancient times.
Porquerolles is the biggest of the three islands in the Hyeres gulf.
It is situated at the same latitude as Cap Corse, and therefore shares the same pleasant climate - almost daily sunshine (more than 300 sunny days a year), mild winters (rarely below 0°C) and hot summers with a delightfully cool seabreeze.
The village was first built in 1820, the lighthouse in 1837 and the church in 1850. After being owned by a succession of people, the island was bought in 1912 by Monsieur Fournier who apparently bought it as a wedding present for his wife.

We will close the summer with this wonderful cruise to the Hyéres Islands in France on board of our charter sailing yacht cruising through a real paradisiac corner where the sea is crystalline and the water topaz-colored. We will take the last baths of this season.
The sailing yacht is suitable in order to discover the Archipelago with its three islands Porquerolles - Port Cros - Ile du Levant in France. They are unique in the Mediterranean landscape and a fantastic sailing location thanks to the constant mistral. Porquerolles in France has exceptional beaches and cab be explored also by bike. Port Cros is a National Marine Park and Ile du Levant is a domain of French Military Sea and can be reached in the northern side where there is a naturistic village.
The summer is ended but we still want seaside, sun, sail and wind!
