Itinerary suggestion
DAY 1 - Boarding in La Spezia at 6 pm. Welcome aperitif and dinner on board. Overnight on board of our catamaran and in the early morning sailing towards Portovenere in Italy.
DAY 2 - PORTOVENERE Portovenere is famous for its beautiful sights: old castle, houses, churches and picturesque islands with numerous caves. Together with Cinque Terre this area is a World Heritage Site of Italy. You can visit the Doria Castle built in the XIII century which is one of the main landmarks in Portovenere, from where you will have spectacular panoramic views over the town and San Pietro church. Than you can also reach the Byron Cave which is situated on the continent near San Pietro church, from the church square there is even a way descending to the observatory near the cave. What more exciting than relaxing yourself on board of our charter catamaran admiring this wonderful landscape ?
DAY 3 - SESTRI LEVANTE Set in an enchanting and unusual landscape context, with the peninsula that divides the “two seas” of the Bay of Silence and the Bay of Fairytales, Sestri Levante is one of the capitals of holidays in Italy , but also a town of art and culture. Certainly the first reason why it is worth making a trip to Sestri is the sea with its beaches of thin sand that serve as a frame to the two bays. Beloved by writers and dear to tourists, Sestri is one of the capitals of Ligurian tourism where the sea is always blue. From Sestri a beautiful path starts that leads to the promontory of Punta Manara. In the evening a lot of eating places winkle at you along the promenade and towards the harbour, as well as discos and a thousand opportunities for meetings.
DAY 4 - Towards the "CINQUE TERRE". According to the wind and the weather conditions you can choose to sail and stop in one of the "The Cinque Terre" on board of our charter catamaran. Cinque Terre is situated nearby. These are five beautiful villages in Italy, which are visited by millions of tourists every year. We advise you to pay attention to them.
DAY 5 - PALMARIA. The Palmaria island is well known for its hiking trails, there are a lot of beautiful nature trails, which attract people from all over the world. In the afternoon we will reach the Tino, a small island situated to the south of Palmaria . It is a military zone, so it is closed for visitors. Access is allowed only during the festivities in honor of Saint Venerius, on September 13 (and on the first Sunday after the holiday). Saint Venerius was a hermit who lived on island in VI-VII centuries, a monastery was built on the place of his grave, the ruins of this monastery are still found here.
DAY 6 - GULF OF POETS The Gulf of Poets goes from Portovenere to Lerici in Italy, two splendid locations on the Eastern Riviera. In the landscape seaside villages, churches and medieval castles follow one another on the sea, sandy beaches and pastel coloured houses. A beloved land described by artists and poets. Here two important sporting events are held: the Gulf Cup, a rowing competition between the 13 villages on the Gulf, and the Byron Cup for swimming in the open sea. Among the most beautiful events on September 13th there is the Feast of San Venerio, the patron saint of the Gulf.
DAY 7 - Sailing back to La Spezia and landing at 9 am.
The sailing route is conditioned by weather conditions.
