Itinerary suggestion
Composed by seven islands "The Seven Sisters" ia a suitable location for a relaxing sailing holiday in Italy. Leaving from Vulcano , sailing to Lipari the biggest island and then to the fashioned Panarea, continuing towards Stromboli which is a still active volcano where you can see the famous "Sciara del Fuoco". Sailing to the west you find Salina and the small Filicudi and Alicudi where the time seems have stopped. Day 1: Boarding on our charter catamaran. Overnight in Portorosa.
Day 2: Departure from Portorosa sailing to Lipari. Lipari is the main of the Aeolian Islands and with its white pumice beaches in Canneto, the old castle and the beautiful little village is a suitable sailing destination. Discover the wonderful bays and the narrow streets of the ancient village. The sailing tour of the island is spectacular discovering a lot of coves, hidden small beaches and swimming into topaz and crystalline waters.
Day 3: Departure to Panarea the most worldly of the Aeolian islands, a small gem with pristine bays and spectacular beaches. The famous Cala Junco has on the top of the rock the ruins of a prehistoric village you can reach by foot. From there you can admire an unforgettable landscape. On the island there are no cars, just small APE cars that take you from one to another side of the island. Relax and enjoy a typical Italian atmosphere tasting local food and wine. Anchorage and overnight in Baia Milazzese.
Day 4: Keep on living your sailing holiday on our comfortable charter catamaran and sail towards Stromboli. Being a still active volcano Stromboli is the most spectacular and mysterious of the Aeolian Islands in Italy. Arriving to the small and main village with all white houses and the black gold of lava you feel a special timeless atmosphere . Don’t miss the small and enchanting Ginostra,a little village and harbor on the west side of the island. During the night you can admire from the yacht the Sciara del Fuoco that with its constant eruptions of lava and fire testify the full activity of the volcano.
Day 5: Sailing towards Salina the greenest of the Aeolian Islands, ever devoted to the land and agriculture especially to the cultivation of the vine from which is derived the Malvasia, a native white wine typical of these islands. The most impressive sight is Pollara, a spectacular bay formed by a volcanic crater plunged into the sea where the Italian actor Massimo Troisi shoot the movie “Il Postino”. In Salina don’t miss to enjoy the typical Sicilian granita by “Alfredo” situated in the small village “Lingua” in the southern part of the island. Navigation and overnight on board of our charter catamaran in the tourist port in Santa Marina Salina.
Day 6: Sailing to Filicudi. One of the seven pearls of the Aeolian Islands, Filicudi and its history emerge from the paths, from the white houses and the small streets of the country. There are several small villages on the island, which include Pecorini a Mare and Valdichiesa. In 1997 most of the island territory was turned into a Natural Reserve. At Capo Graziano are the remains of a Bronze Age village dating 2000 BC. Don’t miss the volcanic finger-like rock called “La Canna” which rises about 70 meters above the sea.
Day 7: Sailing to Vulcano. With its visibly smoking crater Vulcano makes an indelible first impression. The island's volcanic nature has long been impressing visitors: the ancient Romans believed it to be the chimney of the fire god Vulcan's workshop, and today it remains famous for its therapeutic mud baths and hot springs. Vulcano's most obvious attractions – climbing the crater, strolling over to the mud baths and the black beaches at Porto di Ponente – Visitors who linger and explore beyond touristy Porto di Levante will discover a whole different island, swimming off Gelso's volcanic beaches or enjoying the rural tranquillity of the central village, filled with vegetable gardens, birdsong and a surprising amount of greenery.
Day 8 : Navigation from Vulcano to Portorosa. Arriving in the harbor and disembark in the morning.
